So CPU uses will unfortunately not work on devices with Android Oreo. I released a beta version of the app that is appsfire compatible with rooted Android Oreo devices where it should work just fine. Post comments or email me if the BETA version doesn't work on your rooted Oreo device. Thank you!

I released a beta version of the app with an active process monitor running on devices with ROOT access. You must become a beta tester to install it. It might be a bit buggy. Any feedback is appreciated, thank you!

Some features of Simple System Monitor do not work properly with Android version 6.0 and later due to underlying system changes.

Also, starting with Android Nougat, the Active Processes tab will only show one app, Simple System Monitor itself. Indeed, Nougat has restricted access to the /proc directory from which information on running processes is extracted. Please bug Google about this problem instead of me :)

Simple System Monitor, as the name suggests, is a clean and simple system monitoring app for your Android device. It graphically shows the uses of the various system components.

Features Download Simple System Monitor:

• CPU usage and frequencies for each core

• Total CPU usage and average frequency

• CPU frequency graph for each core

• Time spent on each CPU frequency state

• GPU usage and frequency*

• RAM usage and ability to clear RAM

• Network activity

• Disk I/O activity (internal and SD card)

• Test drive read/write speeds (internal or external)

• File browser with support for basic operations (copy, cut, delete)

• Cache Cleaner (possibly requires ROOT)

• View list of active applications and processes and their CPU usage, RAM usage, network activity, PID and UID.

• Kill processes as ROOT (only works on rooted devices)**

If you see "..." for one or more CPU frequencies under the CPU monitor graph, restarting the phone should fix the problem.

* Only Adreno GPUs are supported at this time. Sometimes GPU stats information may not be available/accessible in kernel even if the device has an Adreno GPU. In this case, "..." will be displayed instead of a frequency. If you don't see the GPU monitor, your device's GPU is not supported.

** Using ROOT to kill processes is not recommended and should be used with great caution. I am not responsible if anything bad happens to your system or device because of this.
