Use the preferences menu option for this or just long press to view while the test is running.

Swipe left to right: edit the test image
Swipe up and down: change the brightness
Long touch: switch between full screen and normal screen (Android 3.0 and above)
Double-tap: hide or show the test-specific parameters dialog box (if available)
When the soft keys are hidden, it is not easy to move to the next screen: press first to bring up the buttons, then go to the next screen before hiding the buttons again.
