◆ Allow (most) system apps to replay in Greenify
Be warned, most system apps are critical to the basic functions of your device, once they go green they may lose some of their usability. If something bad happens, uninstall and restart system apps you recently updated, or disable and restart these Greenify beta features.
◆ Boost mode (requires Xposed)
The Android framework has been patched to allow Greenify to perform hibernation and other operations without the slow root routine. Moreover, Boost mode also improves the compatibility of many features in Greenify.
◆ Allow GCM push message to wake hibernated apps (requires Xposed)
The Google Service Framework has been patched to allow GCM (Google Cloud Message, aka C2DM) streaming to alert hibernated apps, so you can make some apps green without losing the ability to receive push messages.
Warning: Not all applications use GCM as a push mechanism, some applications create their own connection to the push service in the background, so they cannot take advantage of this patch and their push messages cannot continue to hibernate. Please don't ask about it, it's just "mission impossible" in practice. Instead, ask your developer to adopt more RAM and push the battery friendly GCM.
Detect hidden sync tasks (requires Xposed)
Some applications may have hidden sync tasks that run periodically, but the user cannot disable them in System Settings - Account - Sync. This feature reveals hidden sync tasks and allows you to disable them.

Since all of these experimental features need patches at the OS level, they can traditionally be applied only with ROM modification, which is largely device-specific and ROM-only. The Xposed framework is a new hope for making small, fine-grained patches in a ROM-independent manner. Thanks to the Xposed framework, you can enjoy these experimental Greenify features without replacing the ROM.
