Download Drug Interactions for free
Description of the application
Each year, a new drug is made and put on the market. All patients are treated with several drugs. There are several reasons for this. Where there are many age groups and special medicines for each category, there are many diseases in patients, the spread of subspecialties, and the continuous promotional campaigns by pharmaceutical companies. Therefore, attempts are being made to raise awareness about important drug interactions.
All of this exposes patients to adverse side effects from several medications. In addition, several commonly used drugs have clinically significant interactions when used together. These interactions can reduce or enhance the efficacy of either of the two interacting drugs and predispose patients to reduced therapeutic efficacy or drug toxicity, respectively.
Attempts are being made to raise awareness among clinicians about important drug interactions. It is not possible to enumerate all of these interactions. However, drug interactions are usually described. Such as: diabetes medications, antihypertensive, cardiovascular, anti-tuberculosis, antiepileptic, warfarin, newer oral anticoagulants, and anti-infective agents in tabular form.
The detailed mechanisms of these interactions are not discussed because we want this class to be desk ready and ready for busy clinicians for use in the clinic. Finally, a summary of drug interactions that are very important to remember is provided.
