If the app cannot start recording on the watch, it is because the app does not have permissions. You need to enable permissions on the watch. Settings -> Permissions -> Voice Recorder.

Important! There's a bug with the Moto 360. The moment the watch has a chance to say "Ok google," the microphone stops working in other apps, even though recording is already in progress.
