Google Expeditions allows a classroom or group educator to act as a mentor to guide classroom-sized groups of explorers through virtual reality tours or augmented reality exploration trips. Guides can use a variety of tools to point out items of interest during excursions.
Users outside of groups can also explore objects in VR or AR on their own.
Characteristic:
• You can explore a wide range of places and things on your own with your phone, tablet, or virtual reality headset.
• You can lead class-sized groups of users who are connected locally via your phone or tablet.
• Join an AR or VR guide and let them take you on one of our hundreds of AR or VR explorations. VR mode can be used with Google Cardboard or Daydream glasses.
• You can connect devices to a WiFi network. And if the guide downloads some scans, you don't need an internet connection to play them.
• Choose from a large and growing list of more than 800 expeditions, with each excursion personalized with a set of VR images or AR objects, as well as online descriptions, talking points and questions.
