The SELinux Switch was built from scratch over the course of several months, making it a distinct upgrade from the older SELinux Toggler, which relied on the SELinuxModeChanger. Unlike its predecessor, SELinux Switch comes with a new, independent package and retains a simple and user-friendly interface, ensuring ease of use.

Steps to Install SELinux Switch

Prerequisites Before Installation:

Before installing SELinux Switch, ensure the following:

Download the SELinux Switch APK and save it in an easily accessible location on your device.
Uninstall SELinux Toggler if it is currently installed.

Detailed Installation Steps:

Uninstall SELinux Toggler (if installed), then reboot your device.
After rebooting, install the SELinux Switch APK.
(Optional) Test the app by setting it to Permissive Mode and rebooting your device to confirm the change.

Note: If you plan to install the app using the Flashable Installer via a custom recovery, reboot into recovery mode and install the app from there. It is recommended (but not required) to wipe the Dalvik Cache after installation.

Why is SELinux Important?

Since the release of Android 4.2 (KitKat), SELinux has been a crucial security feature integrated into the system, with the default mode set to "Enforcing". While this security measure is beneficial, it posed challenges for apps requiring root access, prompting developers to find ways to adapt to this new security environment.
